Alisdair Reid

Alisdair Reid has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Alisdair most recently worked at Orion NZ Ltd, starting as an Engineering Manager in January 2017 and eventually becoming the Head of Engineering in October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at MainPower NZ Ltd as a Design Manager from October 2007 to September 2011, and then as a Network Manager - Assets from September 2011 to December 2016. Before that, they worked at Maunsell Ltd as a Design Engineer from July 2004 to October 2007. Alisdair also had roles as a Protection Engineer at Sinclair Knight Merz from December 2003 to July 2004, and as a Commissioning Engineer at Cruickshanks Ltd from 2000 to 2003. Alisdair'searliest role was as an Assistant Engineer at GEC Alsthom T&D Systems from September 1998 to March 2000.

Alisdair Reid has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the University of Canterbury, which they obtained between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned a BEng(Hons) degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Glasgow, completing their studies from 1994 to 1998. Before their university education, they attended Carrick Academy from 1988 to 1994 and Cairn School from 1981 to 1988, although no specific degrees or fields of study are mentioned for these institutions. In addition to their academic qualifications, Alisdair Reid holds certifications as a Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), obtained in 2011, and as an IntPE from the Engineering Council.
