Michael Austin

Michael Austin is a seasoned construction engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, currently working at Orion Group since November 2019 on the BP Mad Dog 2 Project in Houston. Prior roles include commissioning piping engineer at WorleyParsons for the BP Clair Ridge Project from March 2018 to November 2019, and various engineering positions at Amec Foster Wheeler from May 2016 to March 2018, contributing to the Clair Ridge Project as well. Michael's career began at BP from September 2013 to April 2016, where responsibilities included lead piping construction engineer for the Clair Ridge Project. Michael also served as a piping commissioning engineer for Hess Corporation in early 2013 and held a similar leaktest lead position at BP from July 2011 to January 2013. Michael holds an HNC in Fabrication & Weld from South Tyneside, obtained from 1998 to 2002.
