Sylvia Yang started their work experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Encentuate in 2006. Sylvia was responsible for ensuring accurate implementation of customer business requirements, designing and executing test plans, and leading the team in the absence of the QA Manager. Sylvia then joined IBM after its acquisition of Encentuate in 2008. At IBM, they held multiple roles including Technical Lead, Quality Assurance Technical Lead, and Staff Software Engineer (Quality Assurance). In these roles, Sylvia managed technical support teams, allocated resources, developed resourcing trends, led the Quality Assurance practice for various products, and performed hands-on QA activities such as test plan development and execution. Sylvia has also worked at Orion Health as an Application Support Analyst since 2019, where they serve as the primary contact for service interruptions and technical questions, analyzes and resolves issues in line with SLAs, and manages service releases.

Sylvia Yang completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology from the Civil Aviation University of China between 1998 and 2002. Additionally, they obtained certifications in ITIL® Foundation CPD from AXELOS Global Best Practice in November 2018 and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA, although the specific month and year of obtaining the latter certification are unknown.
