Anje Cauwels

Principal Scientist at Orionis Biosciences

Anje Cauwels has extensive experience in the field of biosciences and medical protein research. Anje currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Orionis Biosciences since January 2021. From February 2014 to January 2021, Anje Cauwels worked as a Professor at the Cytokine Receptor Lab, VIB Department of Medical Protein Research, where they focused on developing immunocytokines and AcTakines to minimize off-target side effects of cytokine treatments.

Prior to their role at the Cytokine Receptor Lab, Anje Cauwels held positions at Ghent University, starting as a Dr-Asst from October 2009 to February 2014, followed by a role as a Senior Postdoc. Anje also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Kantonsspital Basel in Switzerland from May 1997 to January 1999 and at Rockefeller University in New York from March 1995 to February 1997.

Anje began their research career as a PhD Student at the Department for Molecular Biology, UGent in October 1991, completing their studies in March 1995. Through their diverse work experience in academia and research institutions, Anje Cauwels has developed a strong background in molecular biology and cytokine research.

Anje Cauwels has a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Ghent University. Prior to that, there is no information available about Anje's education history, except for attending Sint Andreaslyceum Sint Kruis.
