Barry Nicholson

Barry Nicholson is the current General Manager of ORIX New Zealand at ORIX Australia Corporation Limited. Barry has over 20 years of experience in the fleet management and automotive industries.

Barry began their career in 1997 as the Northern Regional Sales Manager for Orix New Zealand Limited. In 2001, they were promoted to National Sales Manager - Commercial for Custom Fleet. Barry successfully managed the passenger and light commercial vehicle teams, as well as the Commercial Operations and Marketing teams through the buy-out of the business. Sales targets and profitability were exceeded annually, with no major clients lost and staff turnover kept to a minimum.

In 2007, Barry was recruited by FleetPartners NZ as their Director of Sales. During their six-year tenure, they were responsible for growing asset and client numbers, and participated in many successful Trans-Tasman tenders. Barry also oversaw the implementation of a new network business channel, as well as introducing product enhancements and pricing model changes within the business.

In 2014, Barry took on the role of Executive Manager at Vero Warranty/Autosure New Zealand. Barry held this position for two years before returning to ORIX Australia Corporation Limited as their General Manager of ORIX New Zealand.

Barry Nicholson has a Diploma in Business Studies from Massey University and a degree in Management from Mount Roskill Grammar.

They work with Raymond Beddie - GM, Finance, Grant Harrison - GM, Rental, and Jill Edwards - GM, People & Culture. Their manager is Reggie Cabal, CEO & Managing Director.
