Orlando Family Stage
Chris Brown is an experienced professional in theater management and education, currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Central Florida since August 2021, teaching courses on theater management. With a diverse career in various roles, Chris has held positions such as Executive Director and General Manager at Orlando Family Stage since March 2010. Additionally, Chris co-founded ClassMax, an innovative tool for converting teacher observations into quantitative data, in February 2017. Prior experience includes roles at Hudson Scenic Studio, Inc. and the NYC Summer Play Festival, as well as an Assistant Scenery Supervisor at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Chris holds an MFA in Technical Design and Production from Yale University and a BFA in Technical Theater from the University of Central Florida.

Orlando Family Stage is Central Florida's foremost professional family theatre where audiences of all ages experience the adventure and wonder of watching their favorite stories come to life on stage. With a mission to empower young people to be brave and empathetic by creating quality theatrical experiences, Orlando Family Stage recognizes its obligation to connect students to literature and theatre, and find ways to fill the arts void in local schools and communities – particularly those classified as low-income or underserved. The award-winningYouth Academy provides classes and workshops for children, along with professional development opportunities for classroom teachers. Housed in a three-theatre complex in Loch Haven Park, Orlando Family Stage is also home to the University of Central Florida’s MFA in Theatre for Young Audiences graduate program, training the next generation of theatre for young audiences leaders - the only program of its kind in the Southeast.
