ORLEANS PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Debra Oliver-Hammons has extensive work experience in the law enforcement field. Debra started their career in 1990 at the Shelby County Government as an Assistant Chief. During their time there, they held various roles, including Assistant Chief of Programs and Processing Manager, before leaving in 2017. In the same year, they joined the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office as the Director of Policy and Accreditation, a position they held until 2023. In 2023, they became the Deputy Chief of Jail Operations at the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office, where they currently serve.
Debra Oliver-Hammons pursued their education from 2018 to 2020 at the Southern University of New Orleans, where they earned their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) with a major in Criminal Justice and Corrections.
