Orleans Public Defenders
Louis Gibson currently serves as a Resentencing Client Advocate at Orleans Public Defenders since June 2022, while also holding the position of Case Manager at Catholic Charities Diocese of Baton Rouge since July 2021. Additionally, Louis has been a Reentry Specialist at La.Parole Project since February 2019. With extensive experience in advocacy and case management, Louis is dedicated to supporting individuals through the legal and reentry processes.

The Orleans Public Defenders Office (OPD) aims to provide the citizens of Orleans Parish and each eligible client with the highest quality, client-centered legal representation in Louisiana's criminal justice system - zealous, conscientious, caring, professional, ethical and skilled - whether in criminal, municipal or traffic court. OPD is a community-oriented defender office built upon that zealous defense of the poor and indigent while acknowledging the strengths of clients, families and communities. Established in 2007, OPD represents nearly 20,000 court-appointed clients each year.
