Orleans Public Defenders
Madeleine Griffith is an experienced investigative intern at Orleans Public Defenders since July 2019, where contributions have focused on supporting legal defense efforts. Additionally, Madeleine has been serving as a campaigns department intern at Oxfam America since July 2018, engaging in initiatives aimed at addressing social justice issues. Madeleine completed a degree at Northeastern University from 2014 to 2019.

The Orleans Public Defenders Office (OPD) aims to provide the citizens of Orleans Parish and each eligible client with the highest quality, client-centered legal representation in Louisiana's criminal justice system - zealous, conscientious, caring, professional, ethical and skilled - whether in criminal, municipal or traffic court. OPD is a community-oriented defender office built upon that zealous defense of the poor and indigent while acknowledging the strengths of clients, families and communities. Established in 2007, OPD represents nearly 20,000 court-appointed clients each year.
