Jorge Gonzalez Somavilla

Jorge Gonzalez Somavilla has extensive experience in the electrical industry. Jorge started their career as an engineer at Grupo Ormazabal, S.A. in June 2000 and held this position until March 2002. Jorge then joined Ormazabal in April 2002 as a Business Unit Manager and worked in this role until December 2004. After that, they took on the position of General Manager in various business units within Ormazabal, including the Composite Transformation Business from January 2005 to December 2006, the Transformer Station Business Unit from January 2007 to December 2010, and the Secondary Switchgear Business Unit from January 2011 to September 2011. Jorge then served as the Europe & Africa Managing Director at Ormazabal from September 2011 to April 2013. Currently, they hold the position of CEO at Ormazabal.

Jorge Gonzalez Somavilla received a Certificado en buen gobierno de las Sociedades from the Instituto de Consejeros-Administradores, IC-A in 2022. Jorge pursued an International Executive Master in Business Innovation from Deusto Business School/Cambridge Judge Business School between 2011 and 2012. In 1994 to 2000, they studied Industrial Engineering at the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.
