Rod Hughes

Rod Hughes has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Rod is currently serving as the Education Director at Ormiston Academies Trust. Previously, they held the position of Principal at SWB Academy from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Principal of Ormiston Horizon Academy from 2011 to 2018. Rod also worked as the Deputy Head Teacher at Sandwell Academy from 2009 to 2011 and held various roles at Blake Valley Technology College from 2001 to 2009, including Assistant Head, Deputy Head, and Acting Head. Before that, they were the Head of Design Technology at The Community College Bishops Castle from 1999 to 2001 and started their career as a Teacher at THOMAS TELFORD SCHOOL from 1994 to 1999.

Rod Hughes has a BEng Hons in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Salford. Rod also holds a PGCE in Design & Technology from the University of Surrey.
