James MacDonald

James MacDonald has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and media. James has served as the Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Ornge since January 2014. Prior to this, they worked as a Media Relations Officer at Ornge from May 2010 to January 2014.

In addition, James has been a Professor at the University of Guelph-Humber since September 2013, where they teach courses on media practices and media relations. James has also worked as a part-time Professor at Sheridan, University of Guelph-Humber, and Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.

Before their academic career, James gained journalism experience by working as a Reporter/Writer/Assignment Editor at CTV from 2008 to 2010, a Reporter/Anchor at CHCH Television from 2007 to 2008, and a Features Reporter/Producer at CNN International from 2004 to 2007.

Earlier in their career, James worked as a Videographer/Reporter/Anchor at CTV from 1999 to 2004, and as an Associate Producer at CBC in 1999.

James MacDonald attended the Harvard Business School from 2016 to 2019, where they completed the Program for Leadership Development (PLD 24). Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Western University from 1998 to 1999. Their undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Arts, was obtained from the University of Guelph from 1994 to 1998, with a focus on Canadian History and Political Science. It is also noted that they participated in an Executive Management Program at the DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University, although specific dates for this program are not provided.
