Max Helleis has a diverse range of work experience. Max is currently working as a Geospatial Data Engineer at OroraTech, where they contribute to the development of a global wildfire intelligence platform. Prior to this, they worked as a Scientific Employee at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. from March 2021 to December 2021. Additionally, Max has experience as a Master's Student at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. - Earth Observation Center, a Student Assistant at the Technische Universität München - Chair of Astronomical and Physical Geodesy, and a TUM Data Innovation Lab participant at OCELL Aerial Analytics. Max also worked as a Student Assistant at the Technische Universität München - Chair of Remote Sensing Technology and attended the Earth Observation Remote Sensing Workshop in 2018 organized by the European Space Agency. In 2017, Max embarked on a journey through North, Central, and South America with PADI and completed an internship with subsequent bachelor's thesis at Fraunhofer Institut für Produktionsanlagen und Konstruktionstechnik, where they focused on designing and implementing a temperature-based power control system for laser cladding machines.
Max Helleis has a strong educational background in engineering and space science. Max obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering) from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology from the Technical University of Munich, completing their studies from 2018 to 2020.
In addition to their formal education, Max also holds several certifications in the field of machine learning and deep neural networks. These certifications include "Convolutional Neural Networks," "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization," "Neural Networks and Deep Learning," and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects," all obtained from Coursera in April 2020. Max also obtained the "Fundamentals in Deep Learning and Computer Vision" certification from NVIDIA in January 2019.
