Maureen Smith is a seasoned environmental attorney with an extensive career spanning over four decades. As a shareholder at Orr & Reno since September 2008, Maureen represents clients in various environmental matters, providing counsel on federal and state permitting and compliance. Prior to this role, Maureen served as a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the New Hampshire Department of Justice from August 1992 to September 2008, dealing with complex environmental litigation and legislative initiatives. Earlier experience includes positions at Sulloway & Hollis, PLLC, where Maureen focused on environmental insurance and defense cases, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where Maureen specialized in the regulation of air, hazardous waste, and toxic substances. Maureen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources from the University of Michigan.
