Alexandra de Bonneval has extensive work experience in the legal and talent management fields. Alexandra currently holds the position of Head of European Talent at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP since June 2023. In this role, Alexandra is responsible for setting and executing the talent strategy for Orrick in Europe and Abidjan, overseeing a team of approximately 680 people. Prior to their current role, they served as the European Director of Talent at Orrick, where they played a key role in significantly growing the company's headcount, revenue, and profitability in the region.
Before joining Orrick, Alexandra worked at Linklaters as the Global Knowledge and Learning Manager for the Finance & Projects division from 2009 to November 2012. In this position, they were responsible for setting and implementing the knowledge and learning strategy for the division, covering five practice areas across 20 countries.
Alexandra also has experience at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where they held the role of Regional Senior L&D Manager Asia from September 2005 to August 2009. In this role, they established and led the Learning and Development function for the firm's Asian offices, providing strategic advice and support to the HR team.
In addition to their legal and talent management experience, Alexandra served as a Legal Counsel at the French Trade Commission from October 2004 to August 2005. Alexandra started their legal career as an Attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in April 1998 until September 2004.
Prior to their legal career, Alexandra gained experience as a Legal Assistant at Jeantet & Associés New York and Jeantet & Associes Paris in 1997. Alexandra also worked as a Paralegal at Allen Allen & Hemsley Sydney (Australia) from November 1995 to April 1996.
Throughout their various roles, Alexandra has demonstrated strong leadership, budget management skills, and expertise in talent strategy and development.
Alexandra de Bonneval obtained a Maîtrise degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, HR, Management) from Université Paris Nanterre in 1993. Alexandra then went on to earn another Maîtrise degree in Business Private Law from the same university in 1994. Alexandra continued their education at Université de Toulouse, where they completed a DESS (Post grad) in International Business Law by 1995. In 1996-1997, they attended EFB (Paris Bar School) to obtain a CAPA (Certificat d'Aptitude à la Profession d'Avocat) in Law. Furthermore, Alexandra pursued further studies and acquired an LLM in Corporate and Financial Law from The University of Hong Kong between 2006 and 2007.
