Mark Serafino

Vice President, Enabling Technologies at OrthoPediatrics

Mark Serafino has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Mark began their career as a Physical Therapist at the Hospital For Special Care and later worked as an Associate Professor at Newbury College, where they educated physical therapy students and provided clinical treatments.

In 2000, Mark joined DJO as an Education and Sales Training Manager, where they developed and delivered training programs for the sales force and improved sales through the implementation of a consultative sales training program.

From 2004 to 2013, Mark worked at Zimmer, Inc. in various roles, including Senior Director of the Zimmer Institute in the Americas, where they managed relationships with orthopedic surgeon consultants and the development of long-term strategies. Mark also served as the Director of Medical Education and Associate Director of Curricula and Faculty Development.

In 2013, Mark transitioned to Accelero Health Partners as a Senior Director, responsible for driving cross-functional teamwork and improving efficiency in healthcare institutions. Mark also contributed to marketing efforts and participated in physician recruitment planning.

From 2016 to 2019, Mark worked at MaineHealth as the Associate Vice President of the Orthopedic Service Line, overseeing operations and strategic initiatives across the organization. Mark played a key role in the integration of orthopedics and led care transformation initiatives.

Recently, Mark joined OrthoPediatrics as the Vice President of Global Education and Training. Their responsibilities include developing and executing global education and training strategies, facilitating strategic planning, and implementing digital strategies.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational management skills, making him a valuable asset in the healthcare industry.

Mark Serafino's education history includes a Digital Transformation program from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Marketing Leadership from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2007-2008. In 2002-2004, they pursued a Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Arizona State University. Mark also holds a Master of Science in Physical Therapy (MS PT) from Ithaca College in 1994-1995 and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Clinical Science/Physical Therapy from the same institution in 1990-1994.
