Khuloud T.

Director, Chemistry and Bioconjugation at Orum Therapeutics

Khuloud T. has a diverse work experience in the field of chemistry and bioconjugation. Khuloud is currently working at Orum Therapeutics as the Director of Chemistry and Bioconjugation. In this role, they lead the medicinal and synthetic chemistry efforts for the discovery and optimization of antibody drug conjugates, small molecule payloads, and linker payloads. Khuloud collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive multiple projects in oncology and immuno-oncology areas. Khuloud also presents project updates, medicinal chemistry strategies, and new project proposals in internal and external meetings.

Prior to their current position, Khuloud worked at Orum Therapeutics as the Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry and as a Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry and Bioconjugation. In these roles, they led efforts in identifying and optimizing ADC payloads and linkers, supported bio-conjugation team efforts, and contributed to linker innovation.

Before joining Orum Therapeutics, Khuloud worked at GSK as a Chemistry Outsourcing Manager and as an Investigator in Medicinal Chemistry. In these roles, they worked on small molecule discovery projects in autoimmunity and oncology therapeutic areas. Khuloud successfully optimized hits to candidate quality molecules and supported the DNA Encoded Library (DEL) team on hit identification and validation.

Khuloud also has experience working as a Research Scientist at Northeastern University. In this role, they focused on projects involving antibiotics targeting multi-drug resistant gram-negative bacteria. Khuloud managed a group of graduates and undergraduates and oversaw their efforts in the lab, ensuring their learning and safety. Khuloud also designed, synthesized, and optimized small molecules with gram-negative antibacterial activities.

Overall, Khuloud T. has extensive experience in medicinal and synthetic chemistry, bioconjugation, and small molecule discovery. Khuloud has a proven track record of leading projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in the field.

Khuloud T. has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry/ Computer Science from Al-Quds University and a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Industrial and Applied Technology, also from Al-Quds University. Khuloud then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Natural products at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Following this, Khuloud completed a Post Doc at the same institution, specializing in Medicinal Chemistry/Organometallics. Later, they attended Harvard Medical School for a Postdoctoral program focused on Medicinal Chemistry/Small molecule drug discovery, which they successfully completed in 2012.
