Joel Avila

Joel Avila is an experienced professional in pharmacy operations and strategic management, currently serving as Director of Pharmacy Insights and Strategy at Oscar Health since September 2022. In this role, Joel delivers strategic direction and analytics for pharmacy operations, leads performance reporting initiatives, and manages affordability initiatives. Prior to this, Joel held managerial positions at Strategy& and IBM Watson Health, where responsibilities included team management and strategic assessments for major health plans. Joel's career began at CVS Health, where significant contributions included the development of the Value Formulary and oversight of product implementations. Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical and Ancient Studies from the University of Chicago.
