John Meehan is a GIS professional with extensive experience in geographic information systems and technology. Currently serving as GIS Lead at Osceola County Government since February 2021, John assists in developing strategic plans and enhancing performance through the integration of web technology. Prior to this role, John worked as a GIS Professional at Jacobs, managing and analyzing various datasets, and as a GIS Specialist at The Shopping Center Group, where the production of map products supported national retail expansion. Previous positions also include experience in customer service as a Bell Services Dispatcher at Disney Parks & Resorts and a Barista at Starbucks. John holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS from California State University, Northridge, and an Associate's degree in Drafting from Santa Barbara City College.

Osceola County is a county rich in history and life. Created in 1887, Osceola County is a 1,506 square mile area that serves as the south/central boundary of the Central Florida greater metropolitan area. The city of Kissimmee, the county seat, is 18 miles due south of Orlando. Osceola's other incorporated city, St. Cloud, is 9 miles east of Kissimmee and approximately 45 miles west of the city of Melbourne on the Atlantic coast.
