Andrew Patron

Andrew Patron has extensive work experience in the field of chemistry and natural products discovery. Andrew started their career as a Research Assistant at Vitaphore Corp. in 1989 and later worked as a Research Scientist at Ontogen. In 1997, they joined Biocept Inc as the Manager of Chemistry and Co-Founder. Andrew then worked as the Director of Lead Discovery at TransTechPharma for a brief period in 2000 before becoming a consultant until 2010. Andrew was then employed by Senomyx, Inc. as the Executive Director of Chemistry and later as the Vice President of Chemistry and Natural Products, where they were responsible for leadership, operational oversight, and strategic decisions for the natural products discovery programs. In 2018, Andrew joined Firmenich as the Vice President of Chemistry and Natural Products. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President of Small Molecule Discovery at Osmo, a digital olfaction company focused on creating the next generation of aroma molecules using generative AI.

Andrew Patron earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of San Diego between the years 1983 and 1988. Andrew further pursued their studies and completed a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry at UC San Diego from 1990 to 1995.
