Caner Guclu, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in the field of antenna engineering and research. Caner is currently serving as the Director of Systems Architecture at Ossia Inc., where they have held influential roles since 2017. Their responsibilities at Ossia include antenna design, RF chain design, system architecture, algorithms development, and optimization. Caner has contributed to the design and characterization of large RF power transmitter arrays as well as small form-factor receiver antennas. Prior to joining Ossia, Caner Guclu worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Irvine from 2010 to 2016. Caner has also gained research experience as a Visiting Researcher at Sandia National Laboratories, collaborating with Dr. Willie T.S. in 2013 and 2014. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Middle East Technical University from 2008 to 2010. Caner Guclu also has industry experience through internships at Aselsan in 2007 and 2008, and as a Visiting Researcher at Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya in 2009.
Caner Guclu, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University in 2008. Caner then earned their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution in 2010. Caner completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering at UC Irvine in 2016. Prior to their university education, they attended Izmir Fen Lisesi from 2001 to 2004.
