Carl Thornberg

Carl Thornberg has extensive work experience in the financial technology industry. Carl is currently working at OSTTRA as the Head of AI Technology, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of triReduce/triBalance Technology at OSTTRA, starting in December 2022.

Before joining OSTTRA, Thornberg worked at TriOptima for nearly a decade. Their roles at TriOptima include Head of Optimization Development from September 2018 to November 2020, Head of Financial Development and Head of triCalculate Development from June 2017 to September 2018, Head of Financial Development from October 2014 to June 2017, Team Leader Financial Development from January 2013 to October 2014, and Financial Developer / Quantitative Analyst from December 2010 to January 2013.

Thornberg's earlier experience includes working at Sungard FRONT ARENA as a Financial Developer, specifically focusing on credit derivatives, interest rate derivatives, and fixed income contracts. Carl was also involved in an on-site customer project related to FX Options. Thornberg was the lead developer of an integration module connecting to MarkIT and CMA for retrieving market data and building valuation logic. Carl worked at Sungard FRONT ARENA from June 2008 to December 2010.

Carl Thornberg attended Lund University from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Finance. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2008, they studied at The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University, earning a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2005, they briefly attended the University of Technology Sydney, focusing on Economics but did not complete a degree.
