Vice President, Finance And Premium Acc at OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan)

Martin Emanuel has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Martin currently holds the position of Vice President, Finance and Premium Accounting at OTIP (Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan), a role they have been in since December 2020. Prior to this, Martin served as the Director of Finance at OTIP from December 2016 to December 2020.

Before joining OTIP, Martin worked at Allianz Worldwide Partners as the Director of Financial Operations & PMO. In this role, they oversaw project development efforts for strategic programs and projects within the finance division. Martin also identified and addressed process gaps in the Finance department. Martin held this position from May 2008 to December 2016. Prior to that, they were the Controller at Allianz, overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger functions from June 2003 to May 2008.

Martin started their career at Manulife Financial, where they served as a Senior Financial Analyst from June 2001 to June 2003. Their responsibilities included conducting analytics on potential acquisition targets, budgeting and forecasting activities, and overseeing financial report production. Before Manulife, Martin worked at Rogers Communications as a Group Accountant from February 2000 to June 2001.

Martin's early career included roles as a Staff Accountant at Evans Technology, Inc. from 1998 to 2000, and as an Office Manager at Prometheus Energy from 1996 to 1998.

Martin Emanuel has a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce from Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne, which they obtained from 2012 to 2015. Martin also attended Conestoga College in 2008 and 2009, studying Accounting and Information Technology. Martin holds a CGA Legacy Designation from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) from 1997 to 2003. Martin pursued Accounting and Business Administration at Seneca Polytechnic from 1994 to 1997, and Computer Science at the University of Toronto - New College from 1992 to 1994. Martin has additional certifications as a Six Sigma Black Belt obtained from Allianz in 2012 and a Six Sigma Blue Belt obtained in 2010.
