Robotics Software Engineer at OTSAW

Edmond Ang has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Edmond started their career as a Research Intern at A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in 2016, where they conducted a feasibility study on the use of phase change materials for cold thermal energy storage in office buildings. Edmond also performed simulations and optimization runs using YALMIP with Matlab.

In 2018, Edmond joined Schindler Lifts (Singapore) Pte Ltd as a Field Engineer. During their time there, they learned about the functioning of IoT in elevators and utilized it for symptom diagnosis. Edmond became a Tier 3 expert in Schindler PORT destination control technology and gained experience in setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting PORT components.

Currently, Edmond works at OTSAW as a Robotics Software Engineer Trainee, a position they have held since July 2021. In this role, they are responsible for developing software for robotics systems. Edmond has recently been promoted to the position of Robotics Software Engineer as of April 2022.

Edmond Ang's education history begins in 2014 when they enrolled at the National University of Singapore to pursue a Bachelor of Education in Mechanical Engineering. Edmond completed their undergraduate degree in 2018. In 2021, Edmond attended Ngee Ann Polytechnic and obtained a Specialist Diploma in Robotics Engineering, with a specialization in Robotics Software. Additionally, in the same year, they also pursued a Graduate Certificate in Computing Foundations from the National University of Singapore.

Edmond has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2022, they completed the "Deep Learning Specialization" from DeepLearning.AI. In 2021, they obtained the "AI FOR INDUSTRY® - Foundations in AI" certification from AI Singapore. Furthermore, in 2020, Edmond obtained certifications in "Problem Solving (Basic)" and "Python (Basic)" from HackerRank.
