Beth Desmarais

Beth Desmarais, MCIP, RPP, is a seasoned urban planner with extensive experience spanning over three decades. Currently serving as a Senior Urban Planner and Senior Project Manager at the City of Ottawa since 1992, Beth specializes in zoning studies and has played a crucial role in introducing intensification opportunities within the former City of Ottawa while managing residential and housing-related zoning issues. Prior to this, Beth worked at Delcan Corporation as a Senior Planner, advising public sector clients and preparing significant planning documents such as the Manotick Secondary Plan and several official plans and zoning by-laws. Beth's career began at Mark L. Dorfman, Planner Inc. as an Intermediate Planner, where involvement in a variety of development projects strengthened expertise in land use and development analysis. Beth holds a Master of Arts in Regional Planning and Resource Development from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from McGill University.
