Head Lifeguard/instructor at City of Ottawa

Michel Vezarov has a diverse work experience that includes roles in research and strategy development. They have worked as a Chief Strategy Officer at Sphere Technologies since 2022. Prior to that, they were an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Ottawa, where they conducted research on child abuse and its impact on functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and emotional processing. They also worked as a Head Lifeguard/Instructor at the City of Ottawa, overseeing aquatic programming and leading emergency situations. Additionally, they held various roles at Lifesaving Society Ontario, where they served as an Advanced Instructor and taught lifesaving skills. Michel has also worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of Ottawa, studying the cognitive effects of nicotine and cannabis use through fMRI.

Michel Vezarov completed their Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Ottawa from 2018 to 2022. Michel then pursued a Doctor of Medicine degree at Queen's University from 2023 to 2027. In addition to their academic achievements, Michel obtained several certifications including the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans -TCPS 2 from the Government of Canada - Panel on Research Ethics in January 2020. Michel also became a National Lifeguard Instructor and Examiner from the Lifesaving Society Canada in December 2019. Michel holds certifications as a Standard First Aid and Airway Management - Instructor and Examiner, Aquatic Supervisor, Water Safety Instructor from various institutions such as Lifesaving Society Canada and Canadian Red Cross. Michel also obtained the First Responder & CPR - BLS certification from the Canadian Red Cross in May 2019.
