James Proulx

Executive Officer, Information Technology & Digital Transformation at Ottawa-Carleton District School Board

James Proulx is the Executive Officer of Information Technology and Digital Transformation at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. He provides strategic leadership and direction to a highly effective team within the District’s business and learning technology department, including technology investment planning, cyber security, and digital information management and transformation with a focus on client service excellence. He also leads innovative system-level changes in accordance with multi-year plans and programs.

James holds a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Computer Electronics from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has 30 years of experience as an executive and senior leader, of which 26 have been in the educational sector. James has also had the pleasure of serving as chair for the OASBO (Ontario Association of School Board Officials) ICT Committee and chair of the ECNO (Educational Computing Network of Ontario) Shared Technology Services.

In his current role, James ensures that the OCDSB’s Information Technology strategy aligns with and continues to advance the teaching and learning priorities. He also aims to promote a culture of digital innovation and transformation, and achieve a seamless transformation amidst a dynamic and ever-changing digital landscape.
