Sara Savoia

Sara Savoia currently serves as the Trans and Gender Diverse Student Support Coordinator at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board since January 2023. With a diverse background in education and equity advocacy, Sara has held positions such as Equity Chair for the Simcoe County Elementary Teachers' Federation and Elementary Teacher at the Simcoe County District School Board. Additionally, Sara directed curriculum and instruction at Act Social, an improvisational theatre program aimed at enhancing social skills for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related conditions. Sara has also worked as a photographer, part-time teacher, and respite worker, supporting individuals with ASD and ADHD. Academic qualifications include a Master of Professional Education with a focus on Equity, Diversity, and Social Justice from Western University, and a concurrent Bachelor's degree from Laurentian University in Education and Theatre Arts.
