Ajoy Basak has extensive experience in health science research with a focus on proteins, enzymes, and their regulators. Currently serving as a Scientist at OHRI since March 1998, Ajoy Basak also works with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, concentrating on proteolytic enzymes, particularly Proprotein Convertases, and their implications in health and diseases. Prior to these roles, Ajoy Basak held the position of Senior Researcher at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal from 1986 to 1998, conducting independent research on peptide hormones, drug design, and protease regulators. Ajoy Basak earned a PhD in Natural Products from the University of Calcutta and has dedicated a significant portion of the career to understanding protein biochemistry in relation to various health conditions.
