Michel Shamy

Michel Shamy is a seasoned scientist and neurologist with extensive experience in academic and clinical settings. Currently serving as a Scientist and Associate Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute since November 2015, Michel also holds the position of Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa since July 2014, having previously served as an Assistant Professor. Additionally, Michel has been a practicing neurologist at The Ottawa Hospital since September 2013. Michel completed a Stroke Fellowship at the University of Calgary from August 2012 to July 2013 and a Neurovascular/Neurocritical Care Fellowship at UCSF Medical Center from July 2011 to June 2012. Educationally, Michel obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from Yale University from 1998 to 2002, a Doctor of Medicine from Queen's University between 2002 and 2006, and a Master of Arts in History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Calgary from 2012 to 2014.
