Joanne Rousseau

Joanne Rousseau has a comprehensive work experience in human resources. Joanne is currently working as the Human Resources Director at Ottawa Inner City Health since April 2023. Prior to that, they held the same position at Englobe from June 2019 to April 2023. Joanne also worked as the Manager of Human Resources at DST Consulting Engineers Inc. from January 2017 to April 2023. Before transitioning to a director role, Joanne was the Manager of HR at The Ottawa Citizen from January 1998 to October 2016. Additionally, they have experience as a Sessional Course Facilitator at the Professional Programs - Sprott School of Business, Carleton University from September 2001 to March 2005, where they developed and facilitated courses in the Management Certificate Program, focusing on training and development and occupational health and safety. Furthermore, they worked as a HR Administrator at Schukra of North America from 1996 to 1997, a WCB Claims Administrator at KS Centoco in 1996, and as an HR Assistant/Payroll administrator at Everfresh Beverages from October 1993 to November 1995.

Joanne Rousseau's education history includes obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Windsor, which they completed between 1990 and 1992. Following that, they earned a Certificate in Teachers and Trainers of Adults from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, from 1999 to 2000. Prior to this, Rousseau acquired a Certificate in Human Resources Management from St. Clair College, which they completed from 1997 to 1999. In 1993, they obtained a Law Clerk Diploma in Canadian Law/Legal Studies from the Ontario Business College in Windsor. Rousseau's undergraduate studies were undertaken from 1988 to 1990 at Laurentian University/Université Laurentienne, where they pursued a degree in Psychology.

Furthermore, Rousseau has also obtained several additional certifications, including Nonprofit Fundamentals and Strategic Human Resources from LinkedIn, which were acquired in November 2016. Joanne completed a course on How to Handle Workplace Bullying from Lynda.com in July 2016. In November 2014, they became a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) through HRPA. Additionally, Rousseau achieved the Certified Thomas PPA Analyst certification from Thomas International in June 2012. Lastly, in January 2001, they obtained the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certification from HRPA.
