Kelly Banks, BA (Hons), CAE has a strong background in program management and administration. Kelly started their career in 2005 at Scouts Canada, where they held the position of Council Field Executive/ Area Support Manager. In this role, Kelly was responsible for training and supporting volunteers, promoting membership growth, and planning various youth programs. Kelly then moved to the Ottawa Safety Council in 2015, initially as a Senior Program Manager and later as the Director of Programs. As Director of Programs, Kelly was responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the organization's School Zone Safety Programs. Kelly'srole included overseeing adult crossing guards, walking school bus routes, and pedestrian safety education initiatives. Throughout their career, Kelly has demonstrated excellent organizational and leadership skills, ensuring the delivery of high-quality programs that meet the needs of the community.
Kelly Banks, BA (Hons), CAE, started their education at Carleton University in 1999, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology. Kelly successfully completed their studies in 2003, earning the highest honors for their degree. Additionally, in May 2019, they obtained a certification as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from the CSAE Canadian Society of Association Executives.

The Ottawa Safety Council's mission is to deliver best-in-class road safety programs and services, education, training and awareness throughout our community to drive down the number of road incidents in our community Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, The root of all we do is delivering programs that prevent road accidents for all road users, no matter how traveled We deliver curriculum based pedestrian and bike safety programs in Elementary schools, ensure school zone safety through our adult crossing guards at over 200 locations, promote active lifestyles through the walking school bus program and teach children how to cycle safely. We have been delivering our motorcycle instruction programs, and licensing riders on behalf of MTO for over 50 years. We even protect our most vulnerable riders through our Best Fit car seat program. Our passion lies in advocating for road safety and sharing best practices that reduce accidents and raise awareness across all ages; and the role we can all play in driving, walking and riding safely.
