Earlier in the career, Michael directed marketing efforts for passenger and cargo services at Winnipeg Airports Authority and worked as a transportation consultant at the University of Manitoba Transport Institute, where lecturing on logistics was also part of the role. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography, both from the University of Manitoba.
