Hao Y.

Hao Y. has a diverse range of work experience in the technology and science fields. They currently hold the position of Senior Software Engineer at Otter.ai, starting in December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Uber as a Software Engineer II from May 2019 to February 2022.

Hao Y. also has experience in data engineering and research. They were a Data Engineering Fellow at Insight Data Science from January 2019 to May 2019, where they built a news aggregation app with real-time financial news analysis using tools like Kafka, Spark, and Redis.

Before their role at Insight, Hao Y. worked as a Scientist at Berkeley Lab from December 2015 to January 2019. They also held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford from September 2013 to November 2015, focusing on big data in electron microscopy and atomic structures of beam-sensitive materials.

Hao Y. also has international experience as a Visiting Scholar at The University of Tokyo from May 2011 to May 2012.

Hao Y. began their education in 2005 at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Hao completed their undergraduate studies in 2009 and proceeded to further their education at the University of California, Davis. From 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.
