Tuan-Anh Tran, PhD, is the Co-founder and CEO of Solano Energy, an asset-light energy company focused on providing affordable and accessible renewable electricity. As a Venture Partner and Deeptech Investor at Alabaster since March 2018, Tuan-Anh has invested in early-stage deeptech companies with significant planetary impact across various industries, including food, semiconductor, energy, space, apparel, and plastics. Tuan-Anh holds several other venture investor roles, including positions at Redefine Meat, Neptune Robotics, Otter.ai, ADVANO, Manna Drone Delivery, and Netspark Ltd. Additionally, Tuan-Anh serves as a Scaleup Mentor for EnergyLab's program, designed to enhance promising clean-energy startups. Educational credentials include a DPhil in Information Theory and Electrical Engineering from the University of Oxford, along with an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the same institution. Early education was completed at the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, focusing on Physics.
