Jennifer O. Smestad

Jennifer O. Smestad is the Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Otter Tail. Jennifer has extensive experience in the legal field, having served as a Senior Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Otter Tail Corporation from October 2005 to February 2013. Prior to that, they were an Associate General Counsel at Otter Tail Power Company from May 2001 to October 2005. Jennifer began their legal career as a Partner at Pemberton, Sorlie, Rufer and Kershner, PLLP from June 1996 to May 2001.

Jennifer O. Smestad attended Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York and received their diploma. Jennifer then attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where they earned a BS in political science and civil engineering. Afterward, they attended The University of Texas at Austin School of Law and earned their JD. Finally, they attended the University of North Dakota School of Law.
