Associate Director Of Student Transitions, Student Success And Career Development at Otterbein University

Colette M. Masterson, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience in student affairs and leadership development. From 2014 to the present, they have been working at Otterbein University, where they currently hold the position of Associate Director of Student Transitions, Student Success and Career Development. In this role, they oversee various aspects of student involvement, including Orientation, the First Year Experience, Student Activities, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Commuter Students, and the Campus Center facility. Colette M. is also directly involved in advising the Otterbein University Student Government and the Panhellenic Council.

Prior to this, from 2017 to 2022, Colette served as the Director of the Center for Student Involvement at Otterbein University. In this position, they were responsible for leading and programming various areas of student involvement, including Orientation, the First Year Experience, the Common Book program, and more. Colette M. advised the Otterbein University Student Government and Panhellenic Council and was part of the Executive Sponsor Group involved in reimagining the Campus Center building project.

From 2014 to 2016, Colette worked at Otterbein University as the Associate Director of the Center for Student Involvement, where they initiated the position and expanded co-curricular involvement opportunities for students. Colette M. advised the Student Government and supported numerous student organizations, as well as supervised staff members.

In 2013, Colette worked at Fisher College of Business as the Program Manager of Student Involvement in the Undergraduate Leadership & Engagement Office. Their responsibilities included advising the Undergraduate Business Council and providing support for Fisher undergraduate student organizations. Colette M. also developed and facilitated a Leadership Development series.

Colette's career began at The Ohio State University in 2005, where they held various roles in student affairs. From 2010 to 2013, they were an Assistant Director in The Ohio Union & Student Activities department. Prior to that, they served as the CSA Fiscal Coordinator and Graduate Administrative Associate in the same department. In these roles, they were responsible for student organization funding, registration, and programming, as well as advising various student groups.

In 2004, Colette worked as a Hall Director at Otterbein College.

Colette M. Masterson, Ph.D. received their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, and their Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a concentration in Creative Writing, from Otterbein University. Colette M. completed these degrees from 2001 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at The Ohio State University from 2005 to 2007. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education from Ohio University, where they studied from 2012 to 2016.
