Melissa Van Cain is a highly experienced medical informatics professional and educator, currently serving as the Associate Chief Medical Informatics Officer at OU Health and as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. With a background that includes roles as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and a Clinical Informatics Fellow at Boston Children's Hospital, Melissa has contributed to various projects focused on improving healthcare delivery through technology. Notably, Melissa has expertise in pediatric opioid prescribing trends, telemedicine, and chronic disease management, as well as experience in medical education and resident training. Melissa holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School, an M.D. from Weill Cornell Medicine, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
