Omar Hakim, P.E.

Omar Hakim, P.E. has a diverse work history, beginning in 2009 as a Reviewer for the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. In 2010, they co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the Aggie Angel Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to introducing promising technology start-up companies to accredited investors. In 2011, they became the Director and then CEO of Oui Agree. In 2014, they were the Director and then CEO of Aquadation LLC, a disruptive, patent-protected foundation repair and maintenance system. In 2017, they were the VP of Client Strategy at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, and a Mentor and Advisor at Texas Health Catalyst at UT Austin Dell Medical School. In 2018, they were an Entrepreneur In Residence for the Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) and a Full Professor of Practice at Texas A&M University. In 2021, they became the Chief Executive Officer of EllansaLabs, a technology platform that enables customers to create and manage their own branded lines of custom fine jewelry.

Omar Hakim obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics (Minor in Electrical Engineering) from The University of New Mexico in 1990. In 2003, they completed a Master's Degree in Technology Commercialization from The University of Texas at Austin. In November 2020, they were certified as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
