Mr Joel Poon is currently Vice President, Corporate Communications at Our Hong Kong Foundation. He has extensive experience in the media industry. He was the founding Chief Editor of "Sky Post", a free newspaper under the Hong Kong Economic Times (HKET) group and Chief Editor of American magazine "Reader's Digest Asia (Chinese edition)", overseeing publishing affairs in Greater China and Southeast Asia.
Prior to his role at "Reader's Digest", he served as Deputy Chief Editor of HKET cum Vice President of “etpress” for many years, responsible for overall publication of the Group, which includes supplement, lifestyle column for executives, magazine “e-zone” and “Property Times”. He also previously held positions as Assistant Chief Editor of the "Hong Kong Commercial Daily" and Executive Editor of "Teachers World".
Mr Poon is a standing host for various TV and radio programs. He is Commentator-at-Large for NowTV's "China Review" and the host of RTHK's "Parents Are No Aliens". He has also been a guest host on RTHK's phone-in programme "Open Line Open View" for many years.
Mr Poon is frequently invited as a keynote speaker to different organizations and schools, giving talks on global politics, East-West management, parent-child relationships, creative thinking and reading, which received good responses. He also served as a host for various seminars over a long period of time, best known for his relaxed and humorous style and ability to simplify the complex.
Mr Poon is a columnist, currently writing columns for "Sky Post," "etnet" and "Buddhist Compassion". He has published several best-selling books, including " The Making of Special Administrative Region”, "1997 Diary ", etc.

Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) is a non-government, non-profit organisation founded in November 2014 by Honourary Chairman Mr Tung Chee-hwa, former Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and former Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. OHKF aims to contribute to Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability as well as its sustainable development under the “One Country, Two Systems” principle.
