Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church & School

Welcome to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and School! We have employment opportunities that we regularly share and we would love to visit with you more about these and we invite you to take a look at them here. Mercy, we like to say is "Our Lady’s Church, the Pearl of Mid-City Baton Rouge." Our church parish is made up of 2 priests, 2 deacons, 25 professional lay ministers caring for 3,000 registered families that represent 9,000 souls! While at our parochial school, we are serving students from 3 years of age until 8th grade, having 100 professional team members, and we are forming nearly 1,000 children in the image and likeness of Jesus Christ. Since our founding in 1947, the parish has grown to one of the largest Diocesan communities serving a rich and beautifully diverse area in the heart of Louisiana. In addition to our traditional parish family, we enjoy serving unofficially as a Marian shrine and Catholic Center offering regular celebrations of daily Eucharist, Reconciliation and the privilege of Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. We are blessed with as many “friends of Mercy” as there are parishioners. Only after the celebration of the Sacraments of the Church comes our primary ministry, our Catholic School. Unified around the motto of “Prayer, Knowledge and Service” our teachers and our students strive for academic excellence all the while keeping their eyes fixed Heavenward. Our students are not only preparing for their bright futures, but they are transformed into the living Body of Christ now, each day participating in opportunities of service, mercy, and kindness, and liturgies celebrating the Saints and the Life of Christ. Whether you can join us for daily Mass, a committed Holy Hour in our Adoration Chapel or you are streaming a Mass from afar I invite you to remember Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church & School in prayer. To Jesus through Mary, Our Lady of Mercy, Rev. Cleo J. Milano Fifth Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy
