Melody Butler

Melody Butler is an accomplished healthcare professional currently serving as the Director of Infection Prevention at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital since April 2023, where responsibilities include developing and managing the infection control program and delivering education on infection prevention. Melody is the Founding Executive Director of Nurses Who Vaccinate, advocating for evidence-based immunization information and practices. Melody contributes as a public member on the National Vaccine Advisory Committee and serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for Every Child By Two, focusing on immunization efforts for children. Additionally, Melody is involved with Voices for Vaccines as a Parent Advisory Board member and leads as a Champion for Shot@Life, promoting global vaccination initiatives. Prior nursing roles include Registered Nurse Infection Preventionist and pediatric nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Melody holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University and a Master of Public Health from Chamberlain University.
