Kristian Whitehouse has a diverse work experience in the field of energy and engineering. Kristian is currently serving as the Director of Grid Project Deployments at Our Next Energy (ONE), where they lead multi-functional teams responsible for project management, installation, commissioning, field service, and data analytics associated with grid level battery energy storage systems.
Prior to ONE, they worked at Largo Clean Energy as the Director of Field Operations, overseeing project management and construction for Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Systems (VRFB) installations worldwide. Kristian also developed maintenance and service plans for VRFB systems and implemented a computerized maintenance management system.
Before that, they held the position of Senior Engineer - Fuel Cell Systems at Verde LLC, where they led and managed the establishment of the company's new hydrogen fuel cell system division. Kristian also developed a project plan for designing, building, testing, and demonstrating a new fuel cell system within a year.
Additionally, Kristian has experience as a Commercial Diver, supporting underwater bridge inspections at Stantec Consulting Services Inc. and performing various dive operations at Seamar Divers International and George Tabor Commercial Divers.
Earlier in their career, they worked as a Lead System Engineer at Nuvera Fuel Cells, where they were responsible for system engineering activities related to fuel cell modules in the automotive, aerospace, marine, and industrial mobility sectors. Kristian also served as a Senior Project Engineer for the U.S. Department of Energy's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Program, monitoring sponsored projects.
Furthermore, Kristian had contract positions at General Motors and Delphi, where they contributed to the development and testing of fuel cell modules and auxiliary power units, including control system engineering.

Kristian Whitehouse attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1995 to 2001, where they studied Engineering Physics/Applied Physics. In 2015, they also attended the Commercial Diving Academy to pursue a certification in Air/Mixed Gas Commercial Diving. Additionally, they attended the University at Albany, SUNY from 1995 to 2001 for Engineering Physics/Applied Physics. They have obtained various certifications, such as the FWHA-NHI-130091 Underwater Bridge Inspection from FHWA National Highway Institute in 2016, and the Commercial Diver certification from the Association of Commercial Diving Educators in 2015.
