Jay Carter

Jay Carter currently serves as the Sr. Director of People and Talent at Outdoorsy, having progressed through roles including Director of People Operations and Talent Acquisition, and People Operations Business Partner. Prior to Outdoorsy, Jay held the position of Store Leader and District D&I Manager at Warby Parker, and served as Executive Team Lead for Human Resources at Target, where responsibilities included managing HR metrics and leading diversity initiatives. Additionally, Jay has significant retail management experience from The Buckle, Inc., where leadership and sales development were key focuses, as well as a managerial role in staffing and event promotion at the Cure Non-Profit Organization. Jay began a career in retail as a Sales Specialist at Bloomingdale's and is a graduate of West Virginia University with a BA in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies.
