James Klingler has been working in the engineering field since 2010. James began as a Graduate Student Intern at Lockheed Martin, where they supported development and testing for the Squad Mission Support System (SMSS) and Convoy Active Safety Technology (CAST) projects. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as a Staff Engineer I at Vanderbilt University's Institute for Software Integrated Systems, where they were involved in software development and supporting the DARPA-funded OpenMETA toolset. In 2016, they began a personal project of building an off-grid home for their mother, acting as general contractor, planning, budgeting, and overseeing sub-contractors, and doing a great deal of the manual labor himself, including the specification, design, and installation of an off-grid solar power system. Since 2019, they have been working as an Electrical Engineer at Outrider.
James Klingler obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mercer University in 2009.
