Vittorio Ziparo

Vittorio Ziparo is a Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President of Engineering at Outrider since 2020. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at iRobot, first as Director of Software Engineering, then as Software Lead for Terra, Technology Organization Lead, Senior Principal Robotics Scientist, and Navigation Lead for Terra. From 2013 to 2015, they were the Founder of GommaPlay Srl. From 2008 to 2013, they were the Founder of Algorithmica S.r.l., Principal Investigator for the ROVINA Project and the Cloud-TM project, and Lecturer of "Ontologies, Semantic Web and Protégé" at the Italian Chamber of Deputies. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Guest Scientist at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau. From 2008 to 2009, they were a Member of the Commission for the selection of personnel at Azienda Territoriale per l'Edilizia Residenziale di Roma. From 2007 to 2008, they were a Tutor for Artificial Intelligence I, Research Fellow, and Contract Professor at the University of Rome "La Sapienza". From 2005 to 2006, they were a Marie Curie Doctoral Fellow at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau.

Vittorio Ziparo obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics from the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica Antonio Ruberti, Facoltà di Ingegneria, Sapienza Università di Roma in 2007. Vittorio also obtained a Masters in Computer Engineering from the same institution in 2004. In addition, they have obtained certifications from Coursera and Global Knowledge, including "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" (2019), "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" (2019), "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" (2019), "AWS Technical Essentials" (2018), "Architecting on AWS" (2018), and "Machine Learning" (2014).
