Tapan Mistry

Tapan Mistry, PMP, has over 20 years of experience in program and portfolio management in the medical device industry. Currently, they serve as the Senior Director of Program and Portfolio Management at Outset Medical, Inc., where they oversee the company's R&D, Supply Chain, Global expansion, Hardware, and Software program portfolio. Tapan is responsible for scaling PMO operations, building high-performing teams, implementing best practices, ensuring program governance, resource optimization, and effective program execution to achieve business objectives.

Prior to their current role, Tapan worked at Bio-Rad Laboratories for five years as the Director of Program Management. In this capacity, they led global teams for New Product Development, Technology Transfer, and Continuous Improvement for the Clinical Immunology Business unit. Tapan also managed the Integrated Portfolio Management for the Clinical Diagnostics Group, overseeing business unit programs, instrument development, team structure, and technology transfer to manufacturing.

Before their time at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Tapan held positions at Johnson & Johnson and Medtronic. At Johnson & Johnson, they served as a Senior Manager of Product Development and Program Management, as well as a Research and Development Program Manager. During this period, they gained valuable experience in product development and successfully managed various projects. At Medtronic, Tapan held the role of Research and Development Project Leadership, where they led cross-functional teams from product definition to commercialization. Tapan collaborated with key opinion leaders globally, supported clinical trials, developed core competencies in R&D, and frequently presented new products at conferences.
