Mabell Aguilar

Mabell Aguilar serves as external general counsel and international technology and commercial attorney at OGC since May 2018, specializing in e-commerce, data privacy, B2C compliance, M&A, and IP strategy, while supporting technology and media companies, as well as entrepreneurial ventures. Concurrently, since June 2015, Mabell has held the position of general counsel at Singularity University, leading legal efforts in this social benefit enterprise focused on incubating impactful ideas. Previously, Mabell worked as associate general counsel at Apple from April 2008 to 2015, overseeing legal matters for global commercial activities, and as associate general counsel at Sun Microsystems from December 1995 to April 2008, providing strategic legal advice across multiple business units. Mabell began a legal career as an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, specializing in Latin American business practices and technology transactions. Mabell holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Psychology from Loyola Marymount University.
