Karen Knops

Karen Knops, MD FAAHPM, currently serves as the Ascend program facilitator and coach at Overlake Medical Center & Clinics, focusing on developing a collaborative culture and providing training for healthcare professionals. As founder and Medical Director of Palliative Care at Ascending Bridge since 2016, Karen leads initiatives in palliative medicine. Previous experience includes roles such as content reviewer at Wolters Kluwer Health, Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Medical Director of the Palliative Care Program at Atlantic Health. Karen completed a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Stanford University and has a robust educational background including an MD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a BS in Physiology from the University of California, Davis.
