Kevin Walker, IOM

Kevin Walker, IOM has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Kevin is currently serving as the Executive Vice President & Chief Policy Officer at the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the Senior Vice President of Public Policy at the same organization starting from November 2018.

From 1999 to 2018, Kevin worked at the American Heart Association as the Regional Vice President of Advocacy. Kevin also served as the Director of Federation and Grassroots at Oklahoma's Association of Business and Industry from June 1997 to October 1998, where they acted as a liaison between local and state chambers of commerce to amplify the impact of state chamber policy initiatives.

Kevin's career also includes a role as the Director of Marketing and Membership at the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce from June 1993 to June 1997. In this position, they managed the government affairs program, worked with lawmakers, community leaders, and volunteers, and served as a liaison to the chamber board.

Their career began in the State of Kansas, where they served as a Legislative Assistant to the Senate President from May 1991 to June 1993. In this role, they provided assistance to the Senate President and majority party senators with legislative information, constituent services, and other projects. Additionally, they represented the majority party on a weekly political talk show.

Throughout their career, Kevin has demonstrated expertise in policy development, government relations, advocacy, and leadership, making him a valuable asset in strategic decision-making and advocacy initiatives.

Kevin Walker, IOM pursued their undergraduate education at The University of Kansas from 1983 to 1988, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.
